Cheryl M Pease Vanos 8 OCT 1947 - 20 FEB 2018 Cheryl was born in San Bernardino, CA. to Skip and Zona WhiteCrow Pease. She was the devoted mother of Christopher Adam Vanos and sister to brother Steve and sisters Jenifer and Leslie. She grew up and attended school in San Bernardino except for a brief time in Montana. She had a beautiful voice and sang in the choir. She spoke French fluently. After taking classes at UCI and UCLA , she moved to Hermosa Beach where she met her future husband Randy Vanos. We were married in 1970 and lived in the San Fernando Valley for 20 years. She worked several jobs as an executive secretary and traveled to England, Saudi Arabia and the Emerits. She loved the trips we took to Hawaii and Utah. She really loved it when we went to England, Switzerland,Germany, Italy and France. I remember her coming home from work and saying "we are getting out of this rat race". The next thing I knew she went up to Sugarloaf and bought us a new home. We quit our jobs and moved to the mountains where we lived for 28 years. We were in a terrible auto accident which took the life of son Chris at age 19. She suffered this till she passed. She had the memory of a computer and could quote what I had written in cards 20 years ago. She was sharp witted and loved to laugh. She loved weather which we have up here. Some of her favorite memories were of our picnicking and long rides in the forest on our horses. I never knew a person who didn't love her and enjoyed being in her company. She died suddenly of a heart attack with no prior symptoms or warning. Resource: Published by San Bernardino County Sun on Feb. 28, 2018. |
