      Don Wood of Miami died Monday, Aug. 6, 2007, at St. John's Hospital in Tulsa. He was 85. Mr. Wood was born July 1, 1922, in Glenpool to Jesse James and Mary Frances (Bell) Wood. He earned a master's degree from Oklahoma A&M in Stillwater. He lived in Tulsa until moving to Miami approximately 25 years ago. He was a World War II veteran of the Navy. He worked as an engineer for McDonnell-Douglas and retired after 25 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Miami. He married Mary Virginia Scritchfield on Sept. 5, 1943, in Drumright. She preceded him in death on June 11, 2007. He was also preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include two sons and their wives, Richard and Fran Wood of Miami and Scott and Stacy Boudinot; eight grandchildren including grandson Donald Joseph Wood of Oklahoma City and grandaughter Mary Tricia Wood of Los Angeles, Calif., and six great grandchildren. Services were held at First United Methodist Church in Miami with the Rev. Kathy Leithner officiating. Burial location: Council House Cemetery, west of Tiff City, Mo. Native American rites will be conducted by Charles Diebold. Pallbearers were Darrell Spears, Ralph Spears, Jay Whitecrow, Sydney Whitecrow, LeRoy Dukes and LeRoy Howard. Honorary pallbearers will be James Squirrel, George Dick and Pat Young.
