Roy Eugene Fortney Jr Roy Eugene "Bubba" Fortney Jr., longtime area resident, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident east of Kildare. He was 16. The funeral will be held Friday, Jan. 21, at 2 p.m. at Grace Memorial Chapel with Cass Midgley of High Impact in Newkirk officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery. Bubba was born Oct. 17, 1988, in Council Grove, Kan., the son of Roy E. Fortney Sr. and Karen Hanna Fortney. He moved to this area just before his ninth birthday and has lived in Webb City, Shidler, Newkirk and Ponca City. Bubba loved listening to music, playing video games, skateboarding and talking about his Monte Carlo. He especially enjoyed being with his family and friends, particularly his girlfriend, Tara. Bubba was also proud of his Indian heritage and was a member of the Seneca-Cayuga Tribe. He is survived by his parents, Roy and Karen Fortney of Ponca City; three sisters, Heather Quinlan of Goose Creek, S.C., Laura Kerr of Newkirk and Renee Fortney of Ponca City; paternal grandparents, Herb and Mary Fortney of Shidler; maternal grandparents, Robert Hanna of Bluff City, Kan. , and Donna Hanna of Anthony, Kan.; two nephews, Michael and Will; and two nieces, Allison and Breanna. He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Michael Sadd in 1980. Casket bearers will be Brandon Barker, Tommy Combs, Chad Petsch, Daniel Harlow, Joey Reynolds and Renee Fortney.
