      Maude E. Smith
      Maude E. Smith of Quapaw died Saturday, April 7, 2007, at Integris Baptist Regional Health Center in Miami after an illness. She was 89. Smith was born Aug. 14, 1917, in Lincolnville to Salomen and Louella “Crawfish” Quapaw. She attended Seneca Indian School in Wyandotte. Click Here! She was a homemaker and attended Spring River Indian Baptist Church. Her husband, Martin W. Smith, preceded her in death. Survivors include one daughter, Georgia Morris of Quapaw; three sons, Harold Smith of Quapaw, Leonard Smith of Miami and Jack King of Wyandotte; one sister, Mary Olson of Quapaw, six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Quapaw Tribal Building, east of Quapaw. Leonard Smith will conduct the Indian rites. Burial will be in Quapaw Cemetery, east of Commerce. Pallbearers will be Henry Ellick, Bill Ellick, Shawn, Ellick, Jess McKibben, Mike McKibben and Jimmy Greenfeather. Paul Thomas Funeral Home of Picher.
