Mildred Louise Bishop was born on September 21, 1921, in Skiatook, Oklahoma, her father, Simeon Bishop, was 19 and her mother, Linda Tyner, was 19. She had three brothers and one sister. She died as a child on January 17, 1927, in her hometown, and was buried in Sperry, Oklahoma.
