      Ronald Joe 'Ron' White
      Ronald Joe "Ron" White of Quapaw died Friday, Feb. 2, 2007, at his home. He was 61.
      White was born Jan. 28, 1946, to Robert and Ada (Bent) White in Claremore. He held a bachelor of science degree and had lived in the Quapaw area all of his life.
      He served two tours of duty with the Army during the Vietnam War with the 101st Airborne Division and Special Forces. He was a Green Beret, a prisoner of war and declared missing in action before returning home.
      He married Rosemary Olsen in May of 1971 in Olathe, Kan. She survives, of the home.
      He was preceded in death by his parents.
      Additional survivors include four sons, Brian White of Commerce, Rusty White of Ada, Brandon "Chooch" Blaine of Quapaw and Bobby "Dobey" Blaine of Quapaw; three daughters, Edweena White of Quapaw, Shannon White of Ada and Francis "Honky" Foreman of Quapaw; five brothers, Ralph "Bull" White of Grove, Randy White of Miami, Louie White of Catoosa, Roger White of El Reno and Ruben White of Joplin, Mo., three sisters, Roberta Smith-White of Commerce, Rosemary "Goose" Fox of Miami and Ruby "Stick" Sequichie of Miami, and nine grandchildren.
      A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today at the AOA Building in Grove. Native American rites will be administered by Brian White and Randy White. Pallbearers will be Jerry Phillips, Tom Chase, Denny Deal, P.J. "Newsome" Attocknie, Jason 'Gomer" Dollarhide and Gary "Big G" Rother Sr. Interment will follow at Bassett Grove Cemetery in Grove.
